Islammiyah is a gender equality activist and human rights advocate. She is the founder and current Project Director of AMDAF and the CEO of GOCOM Radio, Ireland’s first multilingual online community radio. With over 20 years of experience in women’s development, Islammiyah has been instrumental in working with community organisations and engaging with policymakers in Ireland. She has conducted extensive research on discrimination and the challenges facing international protection applicants.

Islammiyah serves on various expert groups and boards in Ireland. She holds a master’s degree in Gender, Globalisation, and Rights, and is the author of three books, currently working on her fourth.
