AMDAF is proud to introduce the Integration Nexus Project 2025, a dynamic initiative aimed at fostering integration, building capacity, and enhancing the health and wellbeing of asylum seekers and refugees in Galway. Through Capacity Building Empowerment, and Wellbeing Services, this project creates meaningful opportunities for participants to take control of their lives.

Funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth (DCEDIY), the project offers a series of impactful programmes, running from October 2024 to July 2025.

Here’s an overview of the exciting activities:

Counselling Services (December 2024– April 2025)

The Integration Nexus Project prioritises mental health with free counselling services to support individuals facing stress, trauma, bereavement, gender-based violence, other challenges. This initiative offers a safe, welcoming environment for participants to share their concerns, gain support, and promote personal wellbeing.

Wellness Forum – Coffee Morning 

Every Tuesday
10 am – 12 pm
From 11th February – 29th April 2025

Kickstart your year with our engaging weekly coffee mornings over 12 weeks.

Participants will enjoy meaningful mental health and wellness discussions, gain new skills, make new friends,  and enhance their wellbeing in a relaxed, inclusive setting.

First 6 weeks: Westside Community Centre
Second 6 weeks: SCCUL Enterprise Centre, Ballybane

AMDAF is committed to empowering individuals with practical tools for success. These courses are designed to improve skills across leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal development, fostering professional and community engagement.

Women Roundtable – 15th March 2025

Coinciding with International Women’s Day celebrations month, AMDAF presents the Gender-Based Violence Conference and Intercultural EPIC Awards on 15th March. This Roundtable will bring together women from diverse backgrounds to discuss critical issues on the theme “Accelerate Action: Her Health.” Participants will share ideas, build networks, and foster collective empowerment for lasting change.

Health Webinars and Seminars (May -June 2025)

Throughout May and June, AMDAF will host a series of weekly webinars/seminars addressing health awareness and education. Topics will include nutrition, preventative care, and access to healthcare resources, all designed to promote healthier lifestyles for our community.

Health Fair (June 2025)

The Integration Nexus Health Fair will mark the culmination of our health-focused activities such as:

• Health Screenings and Assessment
• Interactive Fitness Demonstrations
• Specialised Health Screenings
• Nutrition, Wellness,  and Lifestyle Education
• Fun and Engaging Games
• Healthy Foods and Snacks

This vibrant event will bring the community together to connect with healthcare professionals, access free health checkups, and participate in wellness workshops.
